Before I became a videographer, I trained as an actor at the Oxford School of Drama and subsequently enjoyed several years on the London stage. That background and my 15 years of filming means I am able to work with inexperienced people in front of the camera, to make them feel more confident and professional. My theatre training has given me a fastidious understanding of detail: clarity of thought and speech. Most videographers can shoot and edit, but very few can give non-performers those extra layers of performance ability.
I’ve filmed crisis management exercises in British consulates from Moscow to Colombo, directed an advert for a global enterprise technology company, shot BTS content on a Channel 4 comedy series and have been lead videographer for one of the UK’s biggest pharmaceutical suppliers for over a decade. My client relationships last, with several big brands spanning over a decade.
I am currently producing films for the Government Office for Science and UK Space Agency.
“The one thing I’ve always and only ever gotten from Jamie, when I do stuff on camera, are notes, performance notes. So whether that’s intonation, whether that’s breath, whether that’s energy and tone, anything that you would get on a film set from a director.”David Cutler-ColcloughCoffee Specialist, Brand Ambassador & Cluster Head of Training, UK & Ireland, Nordics, Baltics — Lavazza
